Made up two cushions with images from The Graphics Fairy,
whose vintage graphics and images are a constant source of inspiration
to me. Got the Linen cushions stitched by my tailor Sundar, who is a
treasure, and then sewed on the transfers of a couple of French
lovelies!
They go very nicely with my French typography cushions. Also with Graphics Fairy images that I had done earlier. Rather pleased with the result!:)Waxing Lyrical
An extension of an obsession with decor and design.

Mood Boards
Mood boards are such a great way of seeing how colours and styles will work together. One of my favorite blogs The Yellow Cape Cod posted some gorgeous mood boards. I pinned them today! I pin obsessively. :)
Very smart, don't you think?
I like this one better.
This is really feminine
Followed by a more masculine one.
Great idea, right?

Haute Design High Chairs
Was at Paul's a couple of days ago and was so impressed with the High Chairs. For the design conscious toddler! You can never start too early! :) And in keeping with the overall design. Love their decor!

Decorating With Books
A decorating trend that really has me enamoured is using books, displayed beautifully, as a design element. I especially love the look of old books lounging around artistically. I don't know how long this will last but it is something that I intend holding on to.
Look how gorgeous!
Especially one as beautiful as the one I picked up from Edinburgh Books on a holiday to Scotland a couple of years ago. It was a smorgasbord of Antique books and the shop itself was steeped in atmosphere. ( More on this another time.)
I fell in love with a book of Scottish Poetry published in 1887. Such a work of art! With glorious gold engraving on the covers, both front and back.
The thistle. Scotland's national flower. |
And illustrations that captured the wild beauty of Scotland.
It was awarded as a prize for something as mundane as a Book Keeping course, I presume at the University! Johanni Goodall read the poetry back in the 19th century!
This one is going to be enjoying pride of place in my home for a long time to come. Trend or no trend!
